Rob and ron are down at the norwich self storage unit on 1 south golden street next to the norwich public utilities office off of north main street colecting non-parishable food items, clothing, bed linens, ect. and will be there until 7:00 tonight. also will be there all week for the peach tree apt. fire and are working with the emergency mamagment system. so it would highly appreciated if you could go down and give donations. The Vagina Monologues is coming to the Fox Theater for one show only! All proceeds from the show will be donated to the Southeastern CT Women’s Center. On Saturday, March 8, 2008, Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Council Secretary Charlene Jones and The Foxwoods Diversity Work Group is proud to present a one-time reading at Foxwoods of the Award-winning play by Eve Ensler. The Vagina Monologues has been celebrated throughout the world and will be performed by a cast of Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Members, Tribal Employees and Foxwoods Team Members/Team Leaders. Directed by Entertainment Supervisor Jennifer Baker, a cast of 20 women will read the series of passionate, bawdy, funny, tragic, solemn, and informative monologues that frankly discuss a wide variety of issues and aspects central to the lives of women of different ages, races, cultures and experiences. The Poquetanuck Volunteer Fire Department is doing a fund raiser "Breakfast with the Easter Bunny". On March 15th from 8am to 11am. The fire department is located at 87 Route 2A in Preston, CT. Buffet breakfast for all. A coloring station for the kids. Have the kid's picture taken with the Easter Bunny. There will be an Easter Egg Hunt at 11am. Can you please announce for the Windham Chambers and the Willimantic Whitewater Partnership that the 5th annual RiverFest is set for May 17th this year and they have added new river events.The RiverFest is a popular event that celebrates the river, nature and ecology..New this year will be flat-water competitions for beginners and a kayak kicker ramp for more experienced kayakers.The entire family can enjoy and participate in activities such as a family canoe or kayak trip down the Willimantic River, a road race, nature events, environmental groups, and booths with interactive educational activities for all ages. A Battle of the High School Bands will provide live music.The River Fest is free and open to everyone, though there is a fee for those who participate in the road race and river trip. I listen to CTY evry day going to work and on the way home. The music is top notch but I was wondering if you would be interested in some input. I was raised on blue grass and old country and I was wondering if there would be any chance of setting up a time slot where some of the old country and blue grass say like 9:00 P.M. on Sunday night and replace that boring political program. lol Hope to hear from you and what your ideas are to this posting. |

Hi From the Middle East I just moved from Old Lyme to take a job at Saudi Aramco. My favorite part of CTY is the radio flea market with Bob Edwards I have bought and sold more stuff from that show! I have a missing Italian Greyhound from Lisbon Road, Canterbury. He has been missing since New Years Eve. He is 9 years old, neutured male, he weights about 25 pounds. Isaac is mostly light gray and he has white on his chest,neck and he has white legs and white paws. He was last seen early that morning on Gooseneck Hill Road in Canterbury. I just want to say that I listen to WCTY everyday on the way to work and at work and on the way home. WCTY is the only Country Radio station that I listen to. It is #1 in my book and my daughter, Hannah loves you too. |

Someone just sent me this "Christmas in the Desert" song, written by a soldier who had been in Iraq. Take a minute to listen and appreciate what our soldiers give up to serve. It's a great song with good video. After you listen, say a prayer for all the soldiers over there.

Hey Randy Travis has a new Christmas cd out this year call Songs of The Season and if I hadn't purchased it myself I would never hear any of it. As often as I turn the radio on I have yet to hear one of the song from that cd. He has some new stuff like Labor of Love and Nothin's Gonna Bring Me Down. Sure would be nice to hear these on radio some time. |

I wasn't sure how to best contact you but here goes. My boyfriend is the biggest Keith Urban fan. He knows every fact, talks about him all time, has pretty much every unreleased song on his computer etc. Some even say Keith is the third person in our relationship. We are both members of the Monkeyville fanclub, and came up empty handed looking for presale tickets to his upcoming concert. My boyfriend has been trying everyday to call in with the secret word even going so far as to look up strategies for how to win radio contests and creating a facebook group to get our friends involved and as many callers as possible, we've been making plans and strategizing to try to figure out how to get the best seats possible during the general sale, but we're very afraid we're going to end up with no tickets. I've even tried to contact my friends parents who are gamblers to see if there's any way they can get us seats. We'd pretty much do anything to get tickets to this concert. And when I say anything, I mean ANYTHING. My boyfriend deserves to have an amazing time and to see his favorite artist live. Like I said he's pretty much Keith's biggest fan and on top of that, he's amazing person. We will continue to listen in for your secret word, and exhaust are crazy options, but please if there is ANYTHING you can do at all, contact me.

We have 2 Gret Pyrenees dogs, well loved, and they are great with Kids and family memebers. We love them at the same time, We can't keep them as I relocate to Nashville, TN. On Friday,Oct.19th, Saturday,Oct.20th, and Sunday,Oct.21st,we are having a gigantic yard sale at our home, at 705 Providence Pike, South Killingly, Ct. We are trying to raise money for my granddaughter Kiley Elizabeth Griggs. Kiley has been in and out of Hartford Children's Hospital since July 10,2007.
Kiley has been diagnosed with Congenital Nephrotic Syndrome, which is a very serious disease of her kidneys, By the time she is between 22lbs.,or 2 years old she will need both of kidneys removed and new ones will be put in. Kiley is now 5 months old and only weighs a little over 6 lbs. She goes to Hartford 4 to 5 times a week for special treatments. Eventually she will have dialysis. She has a pic line introvenus on the right side of her neck and she also has a g-tube[feeding tube] surgically inserted in her stomach.
There is a bank account at the New Alliance Bank for anyone wishing to make a donation. Also, if anyone has anything that they would like to donate for the yard sale anything you would like to give is appreciated.

I was at the Carmen Rasmusen's Show at the Wolf Den (Tuesday August 28th.) She had a terrible accident at the end of her last song. The guitar arm hit her hard in the eye. I was up front at the stage when it happened. I was wondering if anyone at WCTY knows anything on how serious it was, and how she is doing?? |
