We’re not sure if they bleed when you scratch them, but a new series of Arizona Lottery scratch-off tickets have been announced that will feature shock rocker — and Arizona native — Alice Cooper. The “Alice Cooper Scratchers” tickets go on sale August 7 and will be available through Halloween.
The tickets cost $5 and offer a top prize of $50,000. Other prizes include Cooper memorabilia and access to the pre-show party for Alice’s annual Christmas Pudding holiday concert.
A launch event was held Thursday at the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer’s Rock Teen Center, a facility affiliated with his Solid Rock foundation that offers equipment and lessons to young people interested in music, dance and other arts. At the event, Cooper took part in a jam session with some of the students.
Early in his career, Cooper was infamous for his outrageous antics and indulgences. These days, the rocker confines his antics to the stage and is a sober, devout Christian involved in various philanthropic endeavors.
Alice said, “You know you’ve made it in this world when you’re an answer on Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune, a likeness of your head is on a PEZ dispenser, or if your face is plastered all over an Arizona Lottery ticket.”
Check out a video of Edgar chatting with Cooper about the lottery tickets and more at the Arizona Lottery’s Facebook page.
